Memories from Mrs C Spicer

Dear Sir or Madam, I saw the advert in The Guardian paper about your coming 150 th celebration. I am now 60 years old but remember my Uncle George, working for Knapp Drewetts, in Kingston , for what I guess was all of my childhood. I remember walking down the little alley way, and asking the man in the box if I could see my Uncle when ever I was in the town centre. My Dad died when I was one year old, and Uncle George, being my Dad's brother tried as hard as he could to help my Mum with my upbringing. My best memory was him collecting me one day in the little green Van he used to drive, and we went up to London.I guess this to have been around 1950. We delivered to lots of places, but when we got near this one particular place (don't know where it was) he told me to hide down on the floor, as he wasn't suppose to carry passengers in the van. That was a super day, and I suppose my first look at the sights of London . Do hope you have a good reunion. My Uncle's name was Mr George Holt, and he lived in Morsby Avenue, Tolworth. My name is Mrs C Spicer 0208-286-7196
