Students are flocking to watch a nest of hatching eggs at Surbiton High School.
Ten eggs arrived at the school yesterday, as part of an Easter project organised by head of biology Kavita Patel.
They should start hatching by Wednesday.
Mrs Patel said: “We want to explain to the girls about how birds produce young. It is really mainly for the younger ones but everybody is so excited.
"The sixth form girls came in one lunch time and said ‘can we have a look?’ It is like they’re our babies.”
