A life-sized pop-up pirate soared eight feet over crowds in costume at the ‘giant games’ event.
Visitors gathered to play the game at the Lamb Pub over the weekend, while food-lovers were well fed by vendors from the Surbiton Food Festival.
Adam Lewis, landlord at the Lamb, said: “It was brilliant fun. The weather slowed it down a little on Saturday but Sunday was a great turnout.”
The pub team consulted a spring specialist to make the pirate pop-up even higher than its original three feet.
The set took the team five weeks to build, and it will now be touring at festivals throughout the year, starting with Blissfields in Winchester.
This was the fifth year of the ‘giant games’ event, which has earlier featured mouse trap, buckaroo, hungry hippos, and kerplunk.
