Police have identified the body discovered in a wooded area behind Nonsuch Park in Epsom on Tuesday.
The body has been confirmed as a 37-year-old man. The death is being treated as non-suspicious.
Officers were called to Castle Avenue at around 3pm on Tuesday.
Detective Inspector Jackie Elkins, of East Surrey CID, said: “The body, now confirmed as a 37-year-old man, was found at approximately 3pm near Castle Avenue.
“We asked the public to come forward with information if they had seen anyone who appeared to be sleeping in the woodland, or perhaps seemed generally suspicious. We have received a lot of calls from the public who have given us really useful information to help with our investigation. I would like to thank everybody who has come forward with information.
“A forensic post mortem was carried out yesterday (10 January), and the pathologist has deemed the death as non-suspicious, with no third party involvement. The next of kin have been informed.”
