A flood alert has been issued for the Thames from Battersea to Walton, through Kingston, Richmond and Teddington.
This afternoon the Environment Agency has given a 'be prepared' amber warning. This means flooding is possible.
Heavy rain is expected tomorrow in south London and the river is expected to remain high for the next three days at Teddington Weir.
The section of the Thames from Walton to Molesey is expected to spill over onto low lying land and roads on Desborough Island.
