Plans to build a new free school in Surbiton are to be shown to residents for the first time.
Free school provider Stamp Education Trust announced in April that it would submit a planning application to build a free school in either Surbiton or Tolworth to open in September 2018.
The provider will host two drop-in sessions at the King Charles Centre, in Hollyfield Road, where bosses will present their “vision” for the school.
In March, it was revealed that Kingston schools are the most oversubscribed in London, with 50 per cent running at or over capacity.
Plans to build a school in Surbiton have proved unsuccessful in the past, with Gems Learning Trust’s attempts to open a school seeing Swan House – on a main road in Kingston town centre – gain the Government’s approval instead.
The plans will be subject to approval from the Department for Education.
The meetings will take place on Saturday, July 2 and Saturday, September 10 at 10am.
