A 10-year-old was plucked from children at 40 schools to sing on stage.
Phoebe Gault, from Long Ditton, is performing in the Piper of Hamelin as part of a flagship production for a charity.
The charity, Creative Youth, based in Kingston, aims to get young people involved in the arts, and the organiser of the International Youth Arts Festival.
Phoebe, who attends Surbiton High Junior Girls School, made it through two auditions to sing in the production staged at the Rose Theatre, Kingston.
Her mother Sarah said: "This has been the most remarkable opportunity to come her way, and one that she has thrown all her energy into.
"I'm sure most of our street must know some of the songs by now, as she's singing all over the place - her bedroom, the bathroom and the garden - at full, beautiful, voice."
The production runs on July 5 and July 6. Tickets are available from rosetheatrekingston.org.
