NOEL EMERSON DAVIES War Veteran Sunrise: 21.12.1921 Sunset: 26.12.2021On26th December 2021, aged 100 years. Noel sadly passed away peacefully, at Greville Care Home, Richmond. Noel will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his dear friend Cleopatra Iva Johnson, his children, grand and great, great-great-grandchildren, sisters, cousins, grand and great-grandnieces, and nephews. Noel joined the Royal West African Air Corps, where he did his war service and served in northern Nigeria and Khartoum, the Sudanese Capital. As an engineer, he worked on spitfire fighter planes, Lightings, Ventura and Lancaster bombers, where he assembled and tested the planes. He came to the UK after the Second World War; as part of the post-war effort. He worked as an engineer for Morgan Crucible Works in South London. As an ex-serviceman, he joined the Royal British Legion and became vice-chair of the West Indian Association of Service Personnel(WASP).He will be sorely missed by all, may his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Noel's funeral service will take place on Friday 4th February 2022, at: Raleigh Road United Church, Raleigh Rd, Richmond TW92DX, at 13.30,followed by cremation at Mortlake Crematorium.
