A seventh person has been arrested after a 50-year-old man was stabbed during a fight in the driveway of a house.

The latest arrest of a 22-year-old man comes as police investigate the fight in London Road, Ewell, at 4am on Sunday.

It has now emerged four men were taken to hospital, including a 21-year-old and 46-year-old who were treated for head wounds at St Helier hospital in Carshalton.

A South East Coast Ambulance Service spokesman said the man stabbed in the chest was taken to St George’s Hospital in Tooting.

The stabbed man and two men with head injuries were arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.

A 36-year-old man and two 20-year-old men were also arrested at the scene on suspicion of the same offence.

The arrested men remain in custody.

Surrey Police detective constable Errol Chetty said: "This was a violent incident.

"I would appeal to anyone who saw what happened or has any information relating to it to contact police as soon as possible.

"I would like to reassure the local community that officers are currently working to establish the full circumstances.”
