The husband of a woman found stabbed to death at her home has been charged with her murder.
The body of Heather Arthur, nee Naylor, was found at her home in Gosforth, an affluent suburb of Newcastle on Monday morning.
Last night her husband, Mark Conrad Arthur, 49, was charged with the 50-year-old's murder.
The couple, who had two young children, previously lived at Bramley Mansions, in Berrylands Road, Surbiton.
They moved to the north-east three years ago.
Today, a former neighbour described Mrs Arthur as "friendly", adding she met her future husband when he moved in to her Surbiton flat as a lodger.
Another former Bramley Mansions resident said: “We never had any problems with them. We got on alright.
“Heather had moved out while we were still there – that must have been over three years ago.
“It’s terrible this has happened.”
