Fire and ambulance crews were called to a suspected carbon monoxide leak in Kingston this morning.
Two fire engines from Kingston responded to an alarm at a student house in Gibbon Road at about 5.30am.
Firefighters isolated the gas supply and ventilated the house.
Four students - three men and a woman - were checked over by London Ambulance paramedics but required no further treatment.
This morning it was yet to be determined whether the alarm had been functioning correctly, firefighters said.
