For many years Kingston celebrated May Day with the May Merrie event, an event involving local community groups and schools.
This year it was replaced with a “create in Kingston” event.
What a shambles.
No traditional events, no information, no programme.
It was an absolute fiasco – and how much was paid to the events management company for this non-event?
I came down to Kingston to enjoy a relaxed afternoon – but soon departed when I discovered there was no event, just a few commercial stalls.
Even the KingstonFirst staff were embarrassed with the poor quality of information they could give to the public.
