Saturday 5th July- Thursday 10th July The first week of the 6th Annual International Youth Arts Festival in Kingston starts with a number of exciting and invigorating workshops taking place in various locations in Kingston Town. Theatre, dance, music, circus, poetry, face painting, magic and so much more will be available to all ages to participate, interact and have a seriously fun week!

Workshop Highlights include: Dream Factory by Page One Theatre at ACT Main House, Sat 5th and Sun 6th at 2pm: Explore secrets and surprises through a sensory adventure into the land of dreams. With a mix of games and imaginative play children will explore poetry and discover puppetry, sharing their own dreams and bringing them to life. By attending this workshop children will have a chance to become a Young Artistic Advisor for Page One Theatre and get a certificate to prove it.
A Taste of Brazil! By Axe capoeira at ACT Main House, Sat 5th and Sun 6th at 4pm and Mon 7th-Thu 10th at 6pm: Energetic workshops, a great opportunity to keep fit and active. Learn about Brazilian culture, some basic capoeira sequences (Brazilian martial art) and take part in the ‘Taste of Brazil’ performance on Tuesday 22nd at 8pm.
Introduction to the Magic of Storytelling & Creative Writing by Re:Verse Poetry at ACT Main House, Sat 5th and Sun 6th at 11 am: Experience the magic of creating stories and storytelling. Participate in exciting and fun activities that show you how to develop creative writing to change the way we help ourselves. Create your own story and change your life!
King Athelstan: First King Of England by Storystorks at The Rose Theatre, Sat 5th at 10:30 am and Sun 6th at 11 am: Award-winning interactive story workshops for children present the story of King Athelstan. Come sing, dance and have fun with Athelstan and his court as he is crowned right here in Kingston before defeating the Vikings and becoming the first King of England.
Make an Album by Creative Youth & Our friends Records at Hook Recording Studio, Mon 7th, Wed 9th, Thu 10th and Fri 11th at 10am: Join us in the recording studio to create our very own IYAF album in just 4 days! And many more….
