Elmbridge Council wants over-50s to get involved in the sport with a six week-long course ahead of Wimbledon this summer.
In conjunction with the Lawn Tennis Association, the council is offering tennis lessons with a professional coach, while highlighting the added sociable benefits of the game.
All abilities are welcome to take part, from those who have never picked up a racquet to those aiming to rediscover their inner Andy Murray, an Oxshott resident.
Councillor Mary Sheldon said: "The course will be fun and very sociable as you will get to meet like-minded people who want to play the game on a regular basis."
Lessons start on Thursday, March 5, from 1pm to 2pm at Cobham Recreation Ground and costs £21.
To register, call the sports development team on 01372 474570 or email sport@elmbridge.gov.uk.
