Police rescued a baby from a hot car by smashing the front window after a distressed mum was locked out of her vehicle.
Officers were called to Douglas Road in Surbiton at 12.34pm after the Range Rover’s door swung shut and the car’s sophisticated security system locked it – with the keys inside.
Temperatures have hit 22 degrees today, and will climb still higher tomorrow.
A Kingston police spokesman said: “We responded on an emergency call. Officers tried various methods to get into the car but it is quite new, so it was difficult. They smashed the window.”
The baby was unhurt, he added.
