This weekend will see AP McCoy’s last day in the saddle as the UK National Hunt season comes to an end.
A line up of some of this season’s biggest equine stars is set to parade for the crowd at the bet365 Jump Finale.
The day will be made extra-special as racegoers will see AP McCoy’s last race before his retirement.
The Parade of Champions will include two of AP McCoy’s most successful mounts during his career.
Deanos Beano gave him eight wins and Don’t Push It secured him Grand National victory in 2010.
Rupert Treelyan, regional director, said it would be an honour to see AP McCoy finishing his career at Sandown.
He said: “We’ll be doing lots of celebrations and there’ll be lots themed around AP on the day. I think the whole crowd will want to see him for the last time so the atmosphere will be electric.”
This year’s Crabbies Grand National winner, Many Clouds, headlines the Champion’s Parade. Oliver Sherwood’s eight-year-old gelding held on to win the steeplechase.
Many Clouds carried 11st 9lb to victory, the highest weighted win since Red Rum in 1974.
After the Parade of Champions, the official end of season awards will see AP McCoy crowned with his 20th and final Champion Jockey title.
Tickets are selling out fast so it is advised to book tickets before arriving.
