A primary school once rated inadequate by Ofsted has received a visit from Dominic Raab MP and is now officially "on the up".
The MP for Esher and Walton went to Bell Farm Primary School, Hersham, on May 15, to congratulate the leadership on a recent good rating by Ofsted.
Mr Raab said: "It was a remarkable achievement for a school rated inadequate by Ofsted to be turned around in 18 months to a rating of good. As Ofsted themselves said this was in no small part the result of strong leadership by headteacher Anne Cooper and her brilliant team.
"Plenty of people are always on hand to criticise a school when it goes through tough times, and I think we should be applauding schools like Bell Farm Primary School which are on the up.
"I was pleased to visit the school and congratulate them in person. This is good news for local children and the wider community."
