A chocolate chilli sponge and a fire-themed marble cake were crowned the winners in St Andrew's Primary School's cupcake competition.
Judged by Maison Blanc development chef Simon Holwell, 11-year-olds Megan Billingham and Oliver Shone got first prize on May 22.
Mr Holwell said 2015 was the best year yet, and added: "The designs are becoming more creative and sophisticated year on year. The thought that Oliver in particular gave to his entry was incredibly clever, trying to convey the sensations of heat and explosion to mirror that of a volcano."
