A 33-year-old woman was allegedly raped in a Surbiton town centre alley.

The alleged attack is said to have happened on August 19 in Newmans Lane, off St James' Road and was reported to police by a third party.

Police could not give an exact time for the alleged rape in the alley next to Matthew James estate agents .

A 64-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the alleged assault.

He has been bailed until early November pending further enquires.
