A motorcylist who died in hospital following a crash with a lorry in New Malden has been named as Kingston Council worker Beju Shah.
Mr Shah, a traffic enforcement officer for the council, had been riding his moped before the crash at the junction of Coombe Lane West and Traps Lane on Thursday, January 5.
London's Air Ambulance, along with paramedics from London Ambulance Service, had taken Mr Shah to St George's Hospital in Tooting.
A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police confirmed his death today.
The driver of the lorry stopped after the crash and was not arrested.
A Met Police spokesman said officers were working to understand the cause of the collision.
A Kingston Council spokeswoman said: "We are deeply saddened to hear of the death of Beju Shah. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very difficult time. A police investigation is underway."
