This is the comical moment a cyclist attempted to shepherd two wandering swans away a busy road, bringing traffic to a standstill on Kingston Bridge.
Hounslow police officer Gary Chatwood, 36, was cycling to work this morning when he spotted the lost birds crossing the bridge, and quickly tried to move them onto the pavement.
But the stubborn birds simply wouldn’t budge, and numerous commuters can be heard tooting their horns.
Mr Chatwood can be heard shouting 'some of us have got work to go to you know" at the swans, before they eventually head down to the river.
The three-minute video, which was filmed on a portable camera attached to Mr Chatwood’s helmet, has already been viewed more than 4,000 times on Facebook since being uploaded this morning.
He said: “I’m very surprised. I was worried to start with because I could see that they were already crossing.
“I decided to just shield them a little. I was trying to keep them on the outside lane to get them off.
“They refused to get up over the kerb. I just saw them crossing the road and thought they’d get scared.”
