Every year the people of Kingston mark Armistice Day to remember and honour those who have served in the Armed Forces, especially those in the First and Second World Wars.
Here are some events in the borough on Remembrance Sunday this year.
New Malden, 9.30am: the service and wreath laying will take part at the War Memorial. In the event of wet weather, the service will be held inside the Methodist Church.
Kingston, 10.45am: the service and wreath laying will take place at the War Memorial. The Remembrance Day commemorations include a March Past, from the Ancient Market Place to the Guildhall at approximately 12 noon.
Surbiton, 10.45am: the service and wreath laying will take place at the War Memorial in Ewell Road. The parade will march from the Surbiton British Legion, along Hollyfield Road onto the Ewell Road, and up to the War Memorial for the service itself. It will commence its return at approximately 11.30am, back down the Ewell Road, past Surbiton Hill Methodist Church, back to Hollyfield Road.
Chessingston, 10.45am: the service and wreath laying will take place at the War Memorial at the Royal British Legion HQ in Church Lane. A service at the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, Church Lane follows at 11.15am.
Mayor of Kingston, Councillor Julie Pickering, said: "This year, we're working with The Royal British Legion to re-think remembrance.
"Kingston's Remembrance Sunday events will not only honour those from our past, they will also honour the present, reminding us that we are supporting a new generation of veteran - men and women who, during more recent conflicts, have made great sacrifices overseas to help protect the rights and freedoms of others.
"There will be moments of quiet reflection, matched with colourful commemorations that will see cadets and other groups march alongside the borough's decorated war veterans. However you wish to mark the occasion, please join us in showing the nation that Kingston remembers."
Residents can help show the nation that Kingston remembers by posting photos from the borough's remembrance events, formal or informal, on social media using the hashtag #KingstonRemembers.
