An impressive 35 years of hairdressing service in the local community is being celebrated this March at Longmeade Community Centre.
The centre, in Sefton Road, hosts a range of activities for over 55s, such as Tai Chi, indoor bowls, line dancing, singing, bingo, arts and crafts, and chess, as well as the beautifying haircuts for both men and women.
Wendy Ward, Gill Trott and Brenda Way have provided a service to club members in this time, befriending, cheering-up and counselling at least 35,000 people.
It’s also estimated they have cut 131,250 inches of hair, used 5460 litres of hair colour and sprayed 1,375 litres of lacquer.
