A Tolworth Girls' School pupil will represent Great Britain at the European Gymnastics Championships later in the year.
Rianna Hodgson, in year 10, will travel to Portugal in October with the under-18s junior women's team.
She will perform in the TeamGym competition, which incorporates floor, tumbling and vault.
The selection process consisted of monthly training of between 14 and 21 hours, as well as performing at the highest standard at club competitions.
Rianna began gymnastics aged six at Tolworth Gymnastics Club, before moving to Leatherhead and Dorking Gym Club aged 12 - since then she has trained four times every week.
A school representative told Surrey Comet: "It is undeniable that Rianna has achieved something amazing, particularly in balancing her time between training, GCSE studies and normal teenage life. Her parents, friends and gym club have provided an invaluable and unwavering support network for her along the way."
