A fourteen year old girl from Epsom is starring in a new American sci-fi thriller called Extinction released on Netflix this July.
The film which was directed by Ben Young, tells the tale of a father who has a recurring dream about the loss of his family and a destructive alien invasion.
Amelia Crouch, who plays the role of his daughter, is starring alongside US actors Michael Pena, Mike Colter and Lizzy Caplan, who is best known for her role as Janis Ian in Mean Girls.
The fourteen-year old, who flew to Serbia for 12 weeks of filming, said: “I missed my family and friends but I really had the best time filming Extinction.
“I learned so much from the other actors on set which I’ve already been applying to my performances since I’ve come home.”
Amelia is no stranger to the big screen and can also be seen in the 2017 film Limehouse Golem, alongside Bill Nighy, as well as Alice Through the Looking Glass and The Huntsman: Winter’s War.
She was also nominated ‘Best Young Actress’ at the 2017 Birmingham Film Festival for her performance in the short film ‘Belle and Bamber’.
Rachel Crouch, principal of Stagecoach Epsom, where Amelia studied acting, said: “We are so proud of Amelia’s achievements.
“She works hard across all three disciplines at Stagecoach and is a great example to show other children what’s possible.”
