A teenage wakeboarding sensation from Weybridge will head to the upcoming world championships as the most successful Briton ever to compete in the sport.
Weybridge-based Luca Kidd is 18 years' old and is the current junior IWWF (International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation) World Champion.
He is one of eleven British riders to have journeyed to the United Arab Emirate recently for the IWWF World Wakeboard Championships, which take place this week in Abu Dhabi.
Luca is officially the UK's most successful ever boat wakeboarder, but he won't be defending his current junior world champion title this time.
Instead he will make the leap into the "Open Men" category and despite his youth has a good chance of a podium finish.
Luca went to St Michael’s School in Sevenoaks until the age of 13. His family moved to Weybridge in Surrey and he attended Box Hill School at Mickleham near Dorking.

He is joined from Surrey by Sarah Partridge, 35, who typically wakeboards in Camberley.
Sarah is competing in the Masters Women category (for over 30s), in which she won the bronze at the last Worlds in Argentina.
"Excitement is increasing in the British Wakeboard Squad as we approach the 2019 Wakeboard World Championships," GB Team Manager Jeremy Nevill said as the team prepared to fly out.
"All of the 11 athletes attending have been practising hard and are looking forward to riding in Abu Dhabi in what will be a highly competitive event.
"Bring it on!" He added.
