Kingfisher Leisure Centre in Kingston was closed 'until further notice' today (December 18), Kingston Council (RBK) said.
The news was announced by the Council via Twitter.
Around 4pm on Wednesday, RBK posted the following:
"The Kingfisher Leisure Centre is closed until further notice.
"Sorry for any inconvenience we will keep you updated."
In response to a query about the closure, RBK said that the closure was needed "due to urgent repairs" to the building.
RBK also directed residents towards other leisure centres open and available for people in the borough.
The Weir Archer Athletics and Fitness Centre (formerly the Kingsmeadow Athletics and Fitness Centre), the Malden Centre and Tolworth Recreation Centre were all named as possible alternatives for residents among others by RBK.
