Fire crews were rushed to Laleham Road in Shepperton this morning (Tuesday, March 23) after at least two cars were seen on fire.
Footage from the blaze, which broke out sometime before 8.38am this morning. circulated on social media, showing two road cars burning bumper to bumper with one another.
Using a high-pressure fire hose, crews from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) arrived and were eventually able to bring the fire under control using breathing gear protect them from smoke inhalation.
Huge plumes of smoke from the fire were visible in the area as the firefighters doused the flames with water.
Crews from Walton and Fordbridge were alerted at 0838 to a car fire on Laleham Road in Shepperton.

A spokesperson for SFRS later posted a short statement to Twitter:
"Crews from Walton and Fordbridge were alerted at 0838 to a car fire on Laleham Road in Shepperton.
"Crews in breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the fire, and a thermal imaging camera to ensure the scene was safe
"Both appliances left the scene at 0932. #Shepperton."
