An emergency services incident has closed a section of Church Street in Walton as first responders attend to the scene this afternoon (Thursday, April 22).
Reports of a significant emergency services presence including an air ambulance broke across social media on Thursday afternoon as authorities worked to establish what happened.

In a short statement confirming their presence at the scene, a spokesperson for Surrey Police said:
We are on scene following an incident in Church Street in #Walton-on-Thames, which happened around 2.15pm today. We are currently trying to establish the circumstances of what has taken place and will provide further updates as soon as we have more information.

Regional media reported road closures on Church Street around the post office, reportedly near to where an accident took place.
South East Coast Ambulance Service and Surrey Police were contacted for comment.
