Police are fire crews are at the scene of a fire that has broken out in the stands at Egham Football Club this evening (Tuesday, May 4).
News of the fire initially broke across social media Tuesday evening, with official police accounts confirming their presence at the scene.

A spokesperson for Runnymede branch of Surrey Police confirmed their presence and that of Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) at the fire, which they described as large:
"We are currently on our way to assist our @SurreyFRS colleagues with a large fire which has broken out in the stands at #Egham Football Club.
"More details to follow when we have them."
The Surrey Comet contacted SFRS and Surrey Police for comment.
