Police have launched a public information appeal after receivinmg reports that a man abused a woman on a bus between Kingston and Epsom last month.
Calling on the public to help with their investigations, Surrey Police uploaded two CCTV images of the man and woman allegedly involved in the incident.
It happened on Thursday, April 22, sometime after 1.15pm when the pair boarded the 406 bus that runs between Kingston and Epsom at Tolworth Broadway.
A spokesperson for Surrey Police described what happened in further detail:
"They sat on the top deck, and the man was heard being verbally abusive to the woman.
"They then got off the bus at Epsom High Street at around 1.30pm."
The case raised mounting concerns over the harassment and targeting of women by men in the wake of the death of Sarah Everard.
Her murder provoked a grassroots backlash from women and supporters across the UK under the name 'Reclaim These Streets' that seeks to counter gender violence and harassment against women.
Anyone with information about the above incident is asked to contact Surrey Police on their website or by calling 101, quoting PR/45210041349.
