A car and motorcycle crashed in Esher this morning (Saturday, June 5) injuring the motorcyclist and bringing significant delays to road users in the area.
The crash happened on Esher High Street around 10.40am on Saturday, when police were called to the scene.
Reports of a large emergency services presence in the area surfaced on social media late on Saturday morning in the aftermath of the crash.
Responding to a request from the Surrey Comet, police confirmed their attendance and said that the motorcyclist had to be taken to hospital due to injuries sustained in the crash.
We were called to a collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Esher High Street around 10.40am today (5 June).
"The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with injuries to his back and legs.
"The road was closed for around an hour while emergency services dealt with the incident," a Surrey Police spokesperson said.
They added that they were now appealing for information about what happened and urged anyone with information to contact them.
