A cyclist has suffered 'life-changing' injuries after they were involved in a crash with a car in Sunbury yesterday (Sunday, August 15).
Emergency first responders attending the scene of the crash, which happened close to the Thames on Lower Hampton Road and Harfield Road in Sunbury, around 2.10pm on Sunday.
They were responding to reports of a collision "involving a black Vauxhall Corsa Excite and a cyclist" at the junction between the two roads.
"The cyclist was taken to St George’s Hospital and remains there with life-changing injuries. The driver of the car was uninjured," a spokesperson for Surrey Police, who have since launched a witness appeal regarding the crash, said.
Road closures previously put in place at the scene have since lifted, but police continue to investigate and are asking for anyone with information to come forward with the following appeal:
