The Surrey and Sussex Police major crime team has launched a murder investigation following the discovery of a woman's body in Guildford.
The body of Helen Anderson, 41, from north London, was discovered at around 3pm on August 23 - located in the undergrowth on the northbound A3 slip road.
This was close to the junction of A320 Woking Road - but it is believed that Helen was murdered elsewhere and her body left at this location.
Police believe the body was left between 3am and 4.30am on Monday morning.
They are looking to hear from anyone who may have witnessed a double-decker bus in the area around that time.
A man has appeared in court accused of Helen's murder and has been remanded in custody.
Dane Messam, 52, wore a white t-shirt with a grey hoodie tied around his neck and spoke only to confirm his name and address in the dock at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
His application for bail was supposed to take place at Guildford Crown Court on Wednesday but was postponed due to him isolating.
The hearing will take place on September 15.
A PTPH will take place on November 22 and the trial has been set for February 14 2022.
A 51-year-old man from Hackney has also been released on bail after he was arrested in connection with the death.
Senior investigating officer detective chief inspector Emma Vickers, who is leading the investigation, said: "From further enquiries, we believe that the body was left at the location in the early hours of Monday morning between 0300 and 0430.
"We are appealing to the public who may have been in the area around that time and have any further information or Dash-cam footage to contact us as they may be able to assist us with this investigation.
"We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have witnessed a double-decker bus in the area around that time which could be connected to our investigation.”
A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: "On 23 August 2021 the Surrey and Sussex Police Major Crime Team launched a murder investigation, following the discovery of the body of a woman believed to be in her forties in Guildford.
