Applications are now open for top dogs in Surrey to join the Canine Cottages team to report on their new adventures.
Successful applicants will act as the company’s paws on the ground, responsible for reviewing cottage holidays, getting involved on their social channels and sniffing out the very best adventures across the UK.
In 2020, there were more than 60,000 applications for becoming a Canine Critic – with each lucky pup receiving a £1,000 voucher for a cottage holiday and a doggy bag full of treats.
The successful dogs will also be celebrated on the Canine Cottages website and appear regularly across the company’s social media channels.
The application process involves uploading your favourite snap showing your dog’s personality and completing a short online form.
This year, Ali Taylor, Battersea's Head of Canine Behaviour and star of ITV’s Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs will be joining the panel to judge the rescue category.
Canine Cottages PR & communications manager, Shannon Keary said: “Canine Critics 2020 was just the light-hearted fun we all needed, and it’s been a pleasure to send so many beautiful pups on their holidays this year to explore what the UK has to offer.
“Although the judging process is never easy, the last litter of Critics have been wonderful, and we’ve all got to know and love each of them.
“This year, we’re recruiting another 10 four-legged friends to join our pack and explore with their humans, giving their paw of approval to our canine-friendly properties.”
Last year's winner from the South East was Barrie, and her pup parents added: "Barrie loves being a Canine Cottages Critic.
“In these uncertain times we had a chance to visit new places, chill out a bit and explore.
“Having a big, not so perfectly behaved rescue dog (yes, Barrie can be a right diva!) it is important for us that our accommodation is dog friendly and dog safe.
“Having so many filters on the website helped us find a perfect holiday spot in just few clicks.
“We would love to stay Critcs forever because there's always a new adventure waiting.”
