A man has been rushed to hospital after he was found in Epsom this morning (Thursday, September 23), police have said.
In a short tweet posted earlier this afternoon by Epsom and Ewell Police, a spokesperson said that a man had been found in the area of Blenheim Road and Almond Road in Epsom with "serious" chest injuries.
He has since been taken to hospital, while a heavy police presence remains at the scene and an appeal for information has been launched.
Unconfirmed reports surfaced on Thursday that the man had been injured in an assault.
Road closures on Blenheim Road and Almond Road are in place as the emergency services remain on site.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police told the Surrey Comet:
"A number of roads are closed in Epsom after a 20-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries earlier today (23 September).
"Police were called to Blenheim Road around 11.25am following reports that a man had been found with serious injuries to his chest.
"There is a large police presence in the area and we are doing everything we can to establish the circumstances of the incident.
"The air ambulance was also in attendance although the victim was taken to hospital by road. Road closures include Blenheim Road and Almond Road. Please avoid the area if you can.

South East Coast Ambulance Service told the Surrey Comet:
"Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by the air ambulance service following reports of an assault. One patient was taken to a London hospital by road in a serious condition..."
