A body has been found in a woodland area in Godalming yesterday during the search for a missing woman.
Police believe that this body is a missing 52-year-old woman from Hascombe.
The death is not being treated as suspicious and there is currently no evidence of any third-party involvement.
Her family have been made aware and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: “Sadly, a body believed to be that of missing 52-year-old woman from Hascombe, Godalming, has been found in woodland in Godalming earlier today (23 April).
“Her family are aware and being given the appropriate support from specially trained officers.
“Our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the death, although it is not believed to be suspicious and there is no evidence of any third-party involvement at this time.
“We would like to thank everyone who shared our appeal and assisted with the search.”
