Earlier today (May 4) Transport for London confirmed the opening date for the highly anticipated new Crossrail service, the Elizabeth Line.
With the exciting news that the delayed opening is now just a few weeks away, on May 24.
The service will be the newest and most modern for the TfL network, with more comfortable, walk-through carriages, wi-fi, travel information screens, and air-conditioning all available too.
Although overbudget, the new line expects to be the first step in modernising the transport system across London.
What route will the Elizabeth Line take?
The new line will run from Reading in Berkshire and Heathrow Airport in West London all the way to Shenfield in Essex and Abbey Wood in South-East London via the centre of the capital.
With stops expected to include stations like Bond Street, Farringdon, Liverpool Street, Canary Wharf, Whitechapel, Woolwich, and more.
Over time there will also be ten new stations which will open in central London.
Plus when the service first opens it will not be integrated fully into the network meaning there will be a change of trains at Paddington and Liverpool Street but, integration is expected in autumn.
If you plan to use the service for long-distance travel, you can expect it to take slightly longer than normal as it will stop at all local stations.
