People in Kent and Surrey are being warned only to call 999 in an emergency after the ambulance service issued an urgent capacity update.
The South East Coast Ambulance service operates across Kent, Surrey, Sussex and parts of northeast Hampshire, and also provides the NHS 111 service across the majority of Kent and Sussex.
The ambulance service has warned that they are experiencing a very busy start to the week and have asked people to call 111 or visit the NHS website instead of dialling 999.
People across the south-east who do need to call for an ambulance or medical help are being asked only to ring once unless the patient’s condition has worsened or you no longer need help.
