An 18-year-old has been charged with a number of offences after a woman was attacked in a New Malden alleyway.
On Saturday August 20, police received a report about an allegation of attempted rape.
Officers are currently providing support to a woman in her 20s.
The 18-year-old was charged yesterday (September 1) with attempted rape, assault by penetration, and actual bodily harm.
He also appeared in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates Courts.
Kingston Police wrote on a statement on Facebook: “#CHARGED “A 18-year-old was charged on Thursday 1st September, with one count of attempted rape, one count of assault by penetration, one count of Assault Occasioning Actual Bodily Harm.
“He will appear in custody at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on the same day.
“On the morning of Saturday 20th August, police received an allegation of attempted rape that was reported to have occurred in an alleyway in New Malden.
“Officers continue to provide support to a woman aged in her 20’s.”
