Plans for a four-star hotel and eight-storey flats on the former power station site in Skerne Road, Kingston have been approved.
Councillors on the development control committee voted through the application from NHP Leisure at a meeting last night.
Developer Philip Trim said: "We are absolutely delighted after what has been a long process and look forward to now getting on with it."
An earlier application for a larger development with a 16-storey section was rejected in November but the new 256 flat plan won over councillors.
The 180 bedroom hotel and conference facility will have 12 (twelve) parking spaces.
