The burned body of a dog has been discovered in a field in Farnham.
It was found by members of the public between Barrie Road and Sandy Hill Road on December 27.
RSPCA inspector, Ben Fitzcosta, said it is “difficult” to tell the breed or the colour of the dog as his remains are “severely” burned.
He explained: “This is a completely shocking discovery and I am keen to hear from anyone who has more information.
“He looks to be a medium-sized, adult male who is not neutered, and possibly a greyhound or lurcher type dog.”
The RSPCA is now appealing to people in the area for more information about the dog.
Anyone with further information can contact the RSPCA by calling 0300 123 8018.
The full statement from RSPCA said: “The RSPCA is appealing for information after the burned body of a dog was discovered in a residential area of Farnham.
“The horrifying discovery was made by members of the public just days after Christmas (27 December).
“A shocked local resident found the body in a communal grassed area in the Barrie Road / Sandy Hill Road area of the town.
“RSPCA inspector Ben Fitzcosta is appealing to people in the local area for more information about the dog.”
