Epsom Town Hall is temporarily closed after a suspected grenade was handed in to police.
Officers were called to Epsom and Ewell Borough Council offices at around 1pm today (January 27) after a suspected historic unexploded grenade was handed in to police by a member of the public.
Explosive Ordinance Disposal officers were called to the scene and the building has been evacuated as a precaution.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: “Officers were called to Epsom and Ewell Borough Council offices at around 1pm today (27 January), after a suspected historic unexploded grenade was handed in by a member of public.
“Explosive Ordinance Disposal officers have been called to the scene and the building evacuated as a precaution.”
