A third man has been convicted of the manslaughter of 22-year-old Kai Davis in Kingston.

Oliver Barker-Perez, 24, of Vera Road, SW6, fled the country after the fatal stabbing on August 21, 2021.

An extradition warrant was put out for his arrest, and he was detained by Spanish authorities.

He was charged with murder after he was extradited back to the UK on November 11 last year.

A trial at Kingston Crown Court heard that Barker-Perez had provided his top to Ben Myles, who caused the fatal stab wound, to hide his identity.

Barker-Perez also accompanied Myles to an alleyway minutes before the stabbing in order for knives to be collected that were later to be used in the attack on Kai.

According to police, through Barker-Perez’s presence with Myles, before and during the stabbing, Barker-Perez “encouraged” him in his actions and, at the very least, he “intended” that Myles would cause Kai Davis very serious harm.

The case against Barker-Perez, Myles and Joseph Barker, who was convicted of manslaughter of Kai, was put together by homicide detectives from the Met.

The jury were shown the evidence of the group's movements before the murder, where they went into an alleyway to collect knives they had stored there before entering a nearby nightclub.

Barker-Perez will be sentenced on Monday, October 2.

Detective Inspector Mike Nolan, the lead investigator, said: "Although, Oliver Barker-Perez did not inflict the fatal blow, he was well aware that his friend intended to cause serious harm to Kai Davis.

"This investigation has taken two years and I am glad that all the people involved in this fatal attack have now been brought to justice.

"The murder of Kai Davis is another example of the mindless act of knife crime in London, that leaves a trail of devastation for the victim's family and friends."
