Thames Water has apologised after a sewer has burst in south west London.
The burst sewer is located in Derwent Avenue and has caused disruption to the A3098 and A3.
Thames Water is working on site now with hopes that the sewer pipe will be fixed today (October 13).
The nearby sewage pumping station is currently closed while Thames Water carry out the repair.
To ensure customers can continue to use their facilities, Thames Water is using tankers “around the clock” to remove sewage from the site and reduce impact on the environment.
A statement on their website reads: “We’re sorry if you’re affected by a burst sewer in Derwent Avenue, SW15 3RD.
“We’re on site working to rectify this as soon as possible.
“We apologise for the disruption to the A308 and A3.
“We have closed the nearby sewage pumping station while we carry out the repair.
“To ensure customers can continue to use their facilities, we are using tankers around the clock to remove sewage from the site and reduce impact on the environment.
“We aim to fix the sewer pipe by Friday, 13 October.”
