Firefighters are still working to put out a fire at a waste collection site in Wimbledon that started on Saturday night.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters are at the scene on Weir Road, where a large pile of household waste caught fire in a single-storey building.
The fire is under control, but it has been difficult to fully put out, with firefighters needing to keep dampening down areas that are still burning.
Fire crews have been working for almost 72 hours, removing and turning over the waste to make sure all the hotspots are out.
It was first reported at around 10.30pm on September 7.
By Tuesday evening, around 800 cubic metres of waste still needed to be cleared.
About 6,000 cubic metres had already been removed to help tackle the fire. Firefighters expect to fully put out the fire by tonight.
Local residents in Wandsworth and Merton are being asked to keep their windows and doors closed due to the ongoing smoke from the site.
People are also advised to stay indoors if possible.
The London Fire Brigade has received more than 120 calls about the fire.
Firefighters are visiting homes nearby to offer advice and carry out fire safety checks.
Air quality is being closely monitored as firefighters continue their efforts to put out the fire.
