Police are searching for the driver of a lorry after a man in his 40s died in a crash on the M25.

UPDATE: A lorry driver, believed to have been involved in the M25 collision on September 26 but who had left the scene, has now been located and is assisting officers with their enquiries.

The crash happened between Kent and Surrey, between junctions 5 and 6, yesterday (September 26) at around 12:30pm.

The incident involved three vehicles - a blue Suzuki motorcycle, a silver Toyota Corolla and a lorry.

The lorry is described by police as having a white cab and blue side curtains and yellow sign writing.

Officers from Kent Police attended the scene along with ambulance crews.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 40s, died at the scene.

Police have confirmed his next of kin have been informed.

Police have released images of the lorry that they believe was involved in the crash and then "left the scene", as officers work to establish the circumstances of the fatal crash.

Detective Inspector Pete Greaves said: "We would particularly like to trace the owner of the lorry, who may not have been aware of the severity of the collision and who left the scene. We would urge the driver to contact us as soon as possible.

"Motorists with dashcam devices are also asked to check for any important footage which may assist the investigation, including of the vehicles in the moments leading up to the collision."
