Two drivers have been given tickets after speeding close to a junior school in Epsom, with one driver almost 20mph over the speed limit.
Epsom Police conducted speed checks on Ashley Road, close to St Martin's Junior School, this morning (November 6).
This found two drivers caught exceeding the 30mph limit by a significant margin.
Officers stationed just a few hundred metres from the school clocked one vehicle at 47mph and another at 41mph.
Despite clear road signage, radar speed indicators, and frequent reminders on social media, police said that these motorists ignored warnings.
The high-visibility presence of a police officer on the roadside served as an additional reminder of the speed restrictions, which are crucial near schools.
Tickets were issued to the offending drivers.
Surrey Police urge all road users to heed speed limits, especially in school zones where safety is paramount.
