Now in its 19th year, Kingston's annual Green Fair is a colourful mix of environmental campaigners, musicians, poets and charities. RACHEL CLIFFORD reports on some of the highlights of the festival.
Kingston's Green Fair bustled with more charities than ever this year, and organisers shrugged off a stormy start to make it a year to remember.
The Surrey Comet is the media partner for the Bank Holiday festival, which was attended by some 15,000 people and attracted 125 charities.
Co-organiser Bernadette Vallely said: "It was a fantastic day, there were no problems, and despite thunderstorms at the start the sun eventually shone through.
"The performances, bands, music and poets were brilliant. Fair Trade had a big impact on the event and we had so many charities. The children's entertainment was bigger and better than ever and the healing field was great."
The Green Fair was launched in 1987 and is now one of Kingston's premier events. Deadlinepix CG2929.
