Local traders are in discussions with Kingston's All Saints Parish Church about the possibility of trading in its grounds over Christmas.
For six years traders from the South East operating under the collective, Eden Crafts have traded in the Market Place during the festive period.
But now they are seeking an alternative space after it emerged a German Market will occupy their usual spot.
Eden Crafts submitted a petition to the executive at the end of May with 189 signatures calling for it to be able to trade in Market Place as usual.
But at a meeting earlier this month the council announced it had signed the contract with a German company.
Director of Eden Crafts, Dina Samara said: "We normally have 36 traders on site at the Market Place so now we are looking for alternative space for this Christmas."
